Technical Assistance

EPN’s pro bono Capacity-Building Technical Assistance Program provides assistance to communities; NGOs; and state, local, and tribal agencies disproportionately impacted by environmental and health issues. EPN's network of volunteers assists organizations to more effectively and meaningfully participate in government decision-making by helping them navigate EPA, potential grants, regulatory processes, federal policies, and publicly available data to support their work.

Our pro bono capacity-building technical assistance program provides a number of resources for communities, community-serving NGOs, and under-resourced government agencies, including: public funding opportunity guides, webinars and convenings, office hours, and 1:1 support. We have assisted over 1,000 groups with technical assistance and helped communities secure over $540 million in federal funding.

Funding Updates

EPN provides biweekly-ish updates on current federal funding opportunities and other funding resources for our network of partners.

Access Federal Funding

Hundreds of billions of dollars from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and the Inflation Reduction Act are currently available and are intended to fulfill the objectives of the Justice40 Initiative. In an effort to assist disadvantaged and under-resourced communities access this funding, EPN has created these resources to assist in the application process.

EPN has over 550 alumni of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)—scientists, lawyers, economists, and others—who use their expertise to collaborate with frontline leaders and organizations on environmental issues to produce tangible health benefits.
