On Thursday, September 8, 2022, in partnership with the EPA Alumni Association, EPN conducted a virtual roundtable event with California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt, a historically Black institution in Arcata, CA. This event was part of our efforts to complement EPA’s objective to diversify its workforce by holding discussions with Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). EPN members Beverly Banister, former Deputy Regional Administrator, EPA Region 4, and Abe Ferdas opened the discussion by sharing their experiences working in the agency, and an EPA human resources administrator followed with a presentation on various career-entry pathways for students and recent graduates.
