On Thursday, December 1, 2022, in partnership with the EPA Alumni Association, EPN conducted a virtual roundtable event with Whittier College, a Hispanic-serving institution in Whittier, California. The roundtable was the kick-off to Whittier College’s “EPA Day,” which historically has involved different sessions on campus focusing on various environmental ideas/concerns, including corporate pollution, environmental justice, on-campus paper waste, on-campus grass reduction, plastic reduction/recycling, clothing recycling, and water issues. EPN member Sam Coleman moderated the event, and two Latinx EPA alumni shared their experience working for the agency. This event was part of our efforts to diversify EPA’s workforce by holding events at Historically Black Colleges and Universities and other Minority Serving Institutions.
