On April 21, 2023, EPN Executive Director Michelle Roos attended the signing of a new Executive Order (EO), Revitalizing Our Nation’s Commitment to Environmental Justice for All, which continues the administration’s ambitious environmental justice agenda and efforts to confront long-standing environmental injustices and inequities including toxic pollution, underinvestment in infrastructure and critical services, and other disproportionate environmental harms often due to a legacy of racial discrimination. With this action, the administration seeks to ensure that all people—regardless of race, background, income, ability, Tribal affiliation, or zip code—can benefit from our nation’s environmental and civil rights laws that provide for cleaner air and water; a reduced risk of asthma, cancer, and other health burdens; and better access to green space, safe and affordable housing, and clean transportation.
