EPN sent a letter to the EPA Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, urging the agency to complete its assessment of whether the fluorination of plastic containers by Inhance Technologies poses an unreasonable risk to human health and the environment.

EPN also submitted comments on EPA’s draft revised 1,4-dioxane risk evaluation and draft unreasonable risk determination Chapter 6.

EPN submitted comments on EPA’s proposed rule: Clean Water Act Section 404 Tribal and state program regulation.

EPN also submitted comments on the White House Council on Environmental Quality’s (CEQ) Phase 2 draft of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) regulations.

EPN submitted comments on the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) proposed guidance for assessing changes in environmental and ecosystem services in benefit-cost analysis.
EPN Announcements

EPN volunteers provided pro bono technical assistance to low-income communities and communities of color over 40 times in the last two months, for a total of more than 450 requests for technical assistance.

EPN also helped 6 community-based organizations successfully apply for and obtain over $2.5 million in Environmental Justice Collaborative Problem Solving Cooperative Agreements and 2 under-resourced government agencies obtain $2 million in Environmental Justice Government to Government funding.

EPN created a suggested 6-step application guide for the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund’s Solar for All opportunity, which included a checklist with suggested timeline, project narrative template, and sample project narrative. In addition, volunteers and staff assisted numerous organizations with one-on-one assistance and application review. We received some very positive feedback about this work, including, “It was a tremendous benefit to our team to have the careful eyes of EPN experts reviewing our application. This gave our team much more confidence in our proposal and undoubtedly increased our likelihood of success.”

Groups Press EPA To Block ‘New’ PFAS Uses Tied To Landmark TSCA Suit
EPN was mentioned in an article by Inside EPA after sending a letter to the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention’s Assistant Administrator, Michal Freedhoff, to encourage the use of TSCA to force Inhance Technologies to stop its production of fluorinated plastics.
