On Monday, August 12, 2024, the Environmental Protection Network (EPN) sent a letter to Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc., (MISO) regarding their approval of the first portfolio of transmission projects through their ongoing Long-Range Transmission Planning process. While we support this work, the initial investment is not sufficient to achieve the high levels of clean energy penetration being pursued by MISO states and utilities. We urge MISO to approve additional transmission system investments to meet the growing demand for clean energy as quickly as possible.
