Columbia University in collaboration with the Community College and Partners Program (C2P2) created the Communication Plan for Community Resilience, adapted from a Communication Plan created for the Jackson, Mississippi, community by a team of Columbia University students from the Climate School.
Strong communication channels make a community more resilient and empowered to tackle a variety of challenges by providing a method to educate, empower, and mobilize a community. The Communication Plan outlines the steps needed to form strong pathways of engagement and strategic community outreach.
The goal of the Communication Plan is to be a tool used by community members to expand engagement. Ideally, it will provide a long-term, adaptable resource.
