On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, EPN, in partnership with the EPA Alumni Association and EPA Region 6, participated in a virtual roundtable discussion and Q&A session with potential EPA applicants applying through the Recent Graduates Pathway. Beth Craig, EPN volunteer and former Director of Climate Protection Partnerships Division, Office of Atmospheric Programs, Office of Air and Radiation, moderated the panel, which included EPN members Sam Coleman, former Regional Deputy Administrator for EPA Region 6, and Beverly Banister, former Regional Deputy Administrator for EPA Region 4. The panel also included two current EPA Region 6 employees who applied through the Recent Graduates Pathway. Panelists spoke about their achievements and challenges while working at the agency. Special thanks to Jay Bassett, Robert Cantilli, Chuck Elkins, Karen Flournoy, Jim Giattina, Michael Haire, Tina Levine, Bob Morcock, Carl Reeverts, Susan Shinkman, Tom Sinks, and Dave Ullrich for volunteering to provide 20- to 30-minute one-on-one mentoring sessions with the interested applicants.
