On Monday, June 17, 2024, EPN submitted comments on key issues in the Asbestos Part 2 draft risk evaluation under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). We agreed with EPA’s preliminary determination that all forms of asbestos and the disturbing and handling of it (exposure) pose an unreasonable risk to human health and that the nine conditions of use (COUs) identified by the EPA contribute to an unreasonable health risk. We also concurred with the preliminary determination that the remaining seven COUs do not contribute to the unreasonable risk.
