On April 30, 2021, EPN sent a letter to EPA requesting that the agency reactivate its Endocrine Disruptor Screening Program and proposing a plan for efficiently screening chemicals for potential endocrine effects. Health effects of endocrine disrupting chemicals include developmental, reproductive, brain, immune, and other problems. EPN recommends establishing a priority-based approach for screening that addresses the type of studies, endocrine effect(s), and chemicals to be evaluated, and urges EPA to expeditiously begin the initial round of screening and follow the proposed priority order for other chemicals.
