On November 15, 2018, numerous science-based organizations, including EPN, released a report on the erosion of scientific integrity at federal agencies and the subsequent consequences to public trust and our government’s ability to respond to problems. When political interference occurs in the way government communicates science and uses it to inform policy, public health and wellbeing suffer. This report describes new and ongoing threats to the use of science in public health and environmental decisions and recommends steps Congress can take in response.
