On October 18, 2024, EPN attended WE ACT’s Annual Gala to commemorate their decades of leadership in the environmental justice movement and celebrate as EPN’s Executive Director Michelle Roos and others were honored.
The Gala was an important moment of togetherness for the environmental justice movement. More than 300 allies and supporters joined WE ACT in the beautiful historic ballroom of 583 Park Avenue as they honored leaders, celebrated victories, and looked ahead to shared goals.
This year WE ACT also honored the following leaders in the movement:
– Barbara Brown, Chairperson of Eastern Queens Alliance
– Arturo Garcia-Costas, Senior Program Officer for the Local, National, and International Environment at The New York Community Trust
– Tonio Burgos, CEO of Tonio Burgos and Associates
